As always, take what resonates and leave the rest.
A client session this week gifted me an insight into a sneakier form of self-sabotage. I was well aware of the louder means of crushing my own soul, but the whispering type was new to me.
The subtler type is a nagging feeling of “getting away with something” as you start to feel more flow and internal ease with how you have rearranged your life.
Despite the fact that the white partriachal/consumeristic/competitive/scarcity based framework was growing inconsequential to me, I still had some underlying unease. I realize now that was simply the last bits of programming running in my subconscious, telling me that I was supposed to feel lacking, disconnected, and overworked.
Thanks to this client session, it is now conscious and can therefore be called out as erroneous!
Have you experienced this before?
Some logistics on my Substack:
The paid subscription option is paused until September. I will be developing the topic list for the upcoming monthly subscriber gatherings and sharing that toward the end of August.
In other news:
I just had to share this picture from the Shamanism and Herbalism workshop I attended a couple weeks ago. I sure as heck look like I am gleefully getting away with something, right? It was so meaningful to learn in person from my main herbalism teacher, Matthew Wood (pictured), who is also the author of many books in my library.
I will share more about my takeaways from the workshop in other posts, but honestly I am still integrating the experience being in the Appalachian Mountains with a bunch of incredible plant people!
Love, Maria Luz
