Astrology of liberation: how the Gemini full Moon reveals your true nature
and why we most definitely should not boss up
Friends, it has not been an easy few weeks. As I was going through some uncomfortable physical, emotional, and spiritual processes, the guidance I kept receiving was to “be myself”. But the me I often present is ultra-accomodating to others’ needs and wants. The me I present seems to have enough energy to power a small city. The me I present trusts spirit implicitly and never has moments of doubt.
And yes, those facets are often authentic to me, but not one hundred percent of the time (this is the part of the post where I admit I am human). So what happens when we shun the culture’s “fake it ’til you make it”, “boss up”, “never let them see you sweat”, or “good mother/daughter/friend” mantras and roles and simply be the version of self we find ourselves to be in the given moment?
And with the complexity of the world, in any given moment we may be ill or depressed or grieving a loss or any number of things our souls embodied to experience. What can happen when we stop playing the expected role(s) is we feel internal discomfort (for me, often shame and its BFF guilt) or face external friction as those on the receiving end of our benevolent (but unsustainable) ways can’t readily adjust.
I am a Leo sun, and have played enduring roles to the point of disappearing myself, have given Oscar worthy one-off performances, and dreaded the inevitable moment when the costumes and make-up come off and it’s just me in front of myself in the mirror. Over the last three years, the show that was my life began its final run. Especially over the course of 2025, I have felt the curtains begin to fall, caught the scent of the stale roses scattered on the stage, and began to see the flashing lights to Exit Stage Left.
This all sounds very dramatic, and while I am not literally ending my life as an embodied human, it feels very much like an end to the Act and scenes I know by heart. Thankfully, I have been rehearsing the new scenes, workshopping this unadorned me in safe spaces (here, for one) with understanding people (you, for another!).
It is my heartfelt belief that humanity is moving toward a more compassionate and inclusive way of being, where we do not have to justify or prove ourselves to others on a daily basis, or fake it until we make it (usually only to make something we don’t actually want). As usual, the cover up has been worse than the crime. Especially when the crime seems to be simply being oneself.
This Full Moon speaks to uncovering our true nature. What is it that tickles you, makes you giggle to yourself? What makes you want to veer off course at full speed to chase something that delights you? Allowing your natural self to desire - and then to follow - what it finds delightful, meaningful, and expansive is how we manifest what our heart requires to beat strongly and resiliently throughout this life. We can certainly manifest lesser outcomes, but why would we?
Relevant Sabian Symbols for the week1
These symbols help me flesh out the themes of the lunation of the week in the context of the larger astrological themes at play. The symbols relevant to each lunation mirror and/or enhance many of the themes of the outer planets as they make significant transits (see suggested previoius posts below).
The Full Moon is exact on 12/4/25 3:14 PM PST, with Mars in a square to Saturn and Neptune
The symbols this week speak to the new experiences we will share as we move through the discomfort of shedding the two dimensional roles we play. “Share” is an important distinction, because as we share our liberated, authentic selves we will be better able to connect and support one another with kindness and compassion for our shared imperfect human nature.
There is also a reminder that the way we behave as a family of humans has roots which are not only physical but cosmic and spiritual. Perhaps this emphasizes one of the lessons of the Saturn - Neptune conjunction which is wrapping up in Pisces: We grow both roots and branches in multiple directions, and all humans are responsible for the health of the family tree and the soil it will eventually become nourishment for.
