Transiting Pluto and its Impact to Each Astrological House
You Will Experience Transformation Where Aquarius Lives in Your Birth Chart
“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” ― Joseph Campbell
Over the last two weeks, I have been talking about the transition of Pluto from the sign of Capricorn to the sign of Aquarius. I mentioned last week that wherever Pluto passes through in your birth chart will transform. This means you would look to your chart to see where Aquarius lives by house(s) and consider what that house signifies in life. You would then blend the house’s natural sign affinity (First House = Aries, Second House = Taurus, etc.) with the sign of Aquarius to understand the overall vibe of that house. Finally, think about Pluto as an agent of transformation. He brings a slow boil to the scene. One that will definitely reach a boiling point and transform the very substance of that house as you uncover truths about yourself. The intention is for your highest good, and will involve healing wounds inflicted earlier in this life or in past lives.
I provide my general impressions of how this may manifest below. Know that many other factors are at play, and I encourage you to riff off of my framework to identify how this may play out given where you are in life. As this transit will continue for 19 years, you have plenty of time to collaborate with Pluto. Tune into repeating patterns and themes to understand the core reason for the current cycle you find yourself in. Acknowledge what is being asked of you to transform, and use your free will wisely. Trust me, Pluto doesn’t accept superficial fixes, and will simply find another way to demand.
First House. Over this transit, your identity will transform in some way. It may be more superficial: how you look, how others perceive you, the way you walk. Or it may be very deep, as you may have uncovered something hidden from yourself while Pluto transited your 12th house. You have decide you do not identify with the norms and ideas you previously accepted as reality, and instead begin to express and act upon your own soul desires in life. The First House is naturally associated with Aries, so with Aquarius covering this space, there will be an element of striking out on one’s own, even if it doesn’t align with the dominant culture’s standards.
Second House. Over this transit, your ideas regarding personal security will transform. By the end, your relationship to money or other physical resources may change as your grasp for external security lessens. You find you must trust yourself above anything external. Here, we blend Taurus with Aquarius. This may look like finding a side gig to make money that is outside of the box, but that feels good to you. It may look like starting a community garden or weekly soup night with friends, thus getting in touch with your senses as part of a group activity.
Third House. Over this transit, your perception of the people, places, and events closest to you will change. Pluto may lift off your rose colored glasses and enable you to see the unfiltered truth, and ask “what do you really have to say about this?” Blending Gemini and Aquarius, once you have gained a truthful perspective from the many options offered to you, you cannot go back to the status quo and must speak your truth. You may find yourself curious about new topics that impact your routine interactions, possibly even in small groups learning or writing. Your relationship with your siblings may transform.
Fourth House. Over this transit, something about the foundation you consider home will change. There is something that doesn’t feel aligned with your soul’s desires, whether it is what you know of your ancestry, or the story your family of origin tells about itself, or the physical place you call home. Blending Cancer and Aquarius, there will be some stretching to the edges of your protective shell, maybe seeing a home where you previously didn’t believe you could be safe and nurtured.
Fifth House. Over this transit, the role of romance, play, and creativity in your self-actualization will be brought into the spotlight. Although the over-culture stresses work over play, and offers poor substitutes to play such as scrolling, shopping, and alcohol, something inside you wants to be expressed. Blending Leo and Aquarius, give yourself permission to shine in your chosen groups. Allow people to see your heart on your sleeve and you may find others whose hearts were waiting for permission, too.
Sixth House. Over this transit, what you devote your time to on a daily basis will change. Maybe you have found yourself serving others or work (having Capricorn over the Fifth house doesn’t immediately lend itself to pleasing yourself), with little time left in service to yourself. The struggle is real, as there will always be demands and you are afraid that what feels good to you will be labeled unusual. Blending Virgo and Aquarius, the irony is that if you do not honor your own need for personally meaningful work, your energy towards others will fail you and your health eventually.
Seventh House. Over this transit, how you are in close relationship or partnership with others will change. Blending Libra and Aquarius, maybe you have fallen into denying your own needs because they seemed too different from what society told you you ‘should’ want in a relationship. Maybe you are not sure what you want in relationship because you haven’t felt like you belong in the culture you were born into. Pluto will ask that you know why you are in relationship.
Eighth House. Over this transit, how and what you bind yourself to and how your desires manifest will change. You may experience some type of loss which changes you. Blending Scorpio with Aquarius, you may find that objectivity serves you in dealing with others’ or your own psychological issues. You may disentangle yourself from drama and trauma by exploring your shadow or taboo interests and integrating theminto yourself in a way you did not expect.
Ninth House. Over this transit, you will expand your horizons literally or figuratively, through travel or increasing your knowledge. You will feel compelled to go out seeking. A natural philosophy that explains your moral code, or a tradition of wisdom which speaks to you deeply. Blending Sagittarius and Aquarius, it won’t serve you to simply adopt another’s philosophy or spiritual practice. You are meant to find your own.
Tenth House. Over this transit, your public persona or what you consider your vocation will change. How and why you got to your current status will be called into question. It should be no accident that you leave the legacy you do, and it requires you to understand what you uniquely bring to this life so that it may live on. Blending Capricorn and Aquarius, your goals will reflect not only desired personal achievements, but what you aim to accomplish more broadly in your time on Earth.
Eleventh House. Over this transit, who you consider your people will change. We are wired to fit in, and over the course of our lives, we compromise our soul’s desires by pretending we are someone we are not so we do not lose our place in the safety of the group. Aquarius is naturally affiliated with this house, so this transit may feel old hat to you, or may shock you into see how your natural ability to fit in has been a substitute for true belonging in your authentic state.
Twelfth House. Over this transit, your spiritual path will reveal itself to you. It will not hit you over the head with it, rather it will take some quiet and stillness to perceive from within. You may find yourself suspended between your old set of beliefs and something you can’t quite see yet. Blending Pisces and Aquarius, you may find your imagination or dreamworld offers a new way of understanding the larger meaning of life and your connection to it.

First house totally nailed it. I appreciate that you describe the slow boil of this transformation happening internally while Pluto was transiting my natal 12th house. I've been aware of it but it has all been an "inside game." Already I am feeling more public about who I am, seemingly without any concern about others' opinions. Thank you!
Feeling safe at home is so important to me.
