I love this!! Soup and bread is just about my favorite meal. In summer, it's salad and bread or other whole grains. I never tire of it and I love the simplicity, nourishment, and vitality. "...sovereignty over my emotional kingdom" sounds like an invitation for deep diving into my journal and meditations. 💚
Yes! taking back the holidays on your terms. It is interesting to see how family react. Two years ago, I offered to bring a simple dinner for Thanksgiving to my partner's mom who was recovering from a hip replacement. She was delighted but then her daughter insisted that a turkey and fixins be made because that's what she and her husband wanted. Suddenly, it became complicated meal and mom was in the kitchen cooking. The biggest lesson I learned was stand your ground!
Love this. And good for you!! I’m glad it was a chiller day. Thank you so much for the shoutout!

Thank you Karla!
This sounds so lovely that I want to invite myself next time!

Oh my! Yikes, it seems that some people's entitled stance really becomes obvious around traditions.
Isn’t it great celebrating holidays on your own terms? I’m glad you stuck to your guns.
