I really enjoyed this, Maria! Thanks for making clear connections and providing great resources. Fascinating material. Are you familiar with the work of Robert Moss? He teaches a modality called Active Dreaming. Here's a link to one of his blogs that may interest you:
Maria, this is excellent. Whatever we think of the validity of this diagnostic/treatment system, it prevailed from earliest times to just a couple of hundred years ago--and still prevails, in parts of the world. It is also the basis for the therapeutic use of plants, the pharmacology of the day--much of which is being confirmed by current research. I'm looking forward to seeing how you develop this series. And I'd like to link to it in my Growing Green with the Zodiac series.
I am excited to open up this way for people to understand their bodies and propensities in whole rather than see ourselves in parts that only a specialist can understand.
When I think back to college, I began as an English major, thinking I would go to law school and follow in my father's footsteps. I took Botany as an elective and ended up switching to human biochemistry. Now I am back to learning about humans from plants.
I am enjoying the twists and turns of this plot 🔀
I hadn't seen the Yale material and will dive in! Many thanks for the collaboration 🤛🏽
Excited to read about this Maria! I remember laughing when I put it together that the extra large feet I was blessed with, were probably due to Jupiter being in my 12th house 🙃
I'm excited about this series! I have dabbled in astrology for decades and incorporated herbalism into my lifestyle twenty years ago, and I am convinced I am wiser and healthier as a result.
Lovely, helpful, and very, very interesting. I'm so glad I circled back around to catch up on these Medical Astrology articles. Thank you for sharing and teaching. I am curious about the reference to the DaVinci Last Supper painting that said Bartholomew (Pisces) was the only one whose feet are visible. Clearly, there are many visible feet in the painting. Feeling a bit like Thomas (Virgo) for pointing this out. 😂
Absolutely! The funny thing is that I was really drawn to the figure of John and wanted very much to identify with that energy, but my eye kept being drawn to the Andrew/Capricorn figure and I kept thinking how I knew that one would be “me” but I didn’t want it to be. Sure enough. Ironically, my maiden name is even Andrews, and my paternal ancestry from Clan MacAndrew, or “Andrew’s Clan”. 😂

I look forward to your series.⚕️✍️🌱✨️
I am so glad you enjoyed it (and thanks for the restack 🙂) and I will check out this reference!
This is an all-new concept to me and you are presenting it in a clear fashion. Astrology has escaped me- but it is never to early to start.
Happy to hear this, Maggie! 💖

Have you seen this? As a longtim explorer of this subject, I have to say that it's extraordinarily complete. https://onlineexhibits.library.yale.edu/s/medicalastrology/page/introduction I have never seen so many remarkable resources all on display together. I hope they leave it up!

I get it Leenie! I was confused by that too, but most of the figures do seem to follow their archetypes. 🤷🏽♀️
