Right, Susan. These characters and stories are archetypes for a reason. There is always opportunity with collective evolution to add to the suite of archetypes, but we humans get stuck repeating patterns of behavior so easily, don't we?
I notice that 'archetype' comes from the Greek verb "to begin" or "to rule", at least according to Merriam Webster. Those two interpretations of the verb seem quite different to me, though I suppose occur in tandem in the concept of a coup!
