Yeah I wrote this line last night and then I deleted it. I thought it was funny, and then I thought maybe others wont see it that way — “my emotional baggage got caught in the conveyor belt and I just want off because it feels like a merry go round. “ — but that's more about me, not you. It’s what I'm processing.
I want to spend more time with you article. Emotional baggage image was cute — but I know there's much more to the story including what you struggled with including the diagnosis. I’ll return to your article when I have time. Thanks for offering your experience as an example to others how to navigate complex emotional experiences.
"Old stories coated in humor..." is so true for me as I joked my way through early adulthood only to stop laughing and see behind my fool behavior for the unhealed wounds. Wonderful writing!
Speaking of writing: congrats on your successful essay in the SCN online competition!
Yeah, I tend to be a pretty serious type so too much joking is a bit out of character and something for me to examine. Thank you so much, Sue, this means so much! I greatly admire your work.
That's a cute title. 😊
Thank you ☺️

Oh gosh, heck to the yes about more to the story.
I see we as individuals are microcosms of the macrocosm, each getting more complex and each thread of function and disfunction related to others.
It takes so much patience and grace to do this healing work.
And having the dark or other sense of humor helps some of us, right?! 😜
Thank you for your engagement, I suspect that we can all accelerate our healing in kind community.
I really liked this piece Maria. I think it is so true that our bodies hold what we haven’t healed.
Thank you so much, Jen!
