The rebellion of quiet confidence
Plus: psychic insight, tarot, & Uranus in Gemini 2025 to consider
As always, take what resonates and leave the rest.
The image symbol received in meditation and offered for this week is:
A finger held over the mouth, in the Shhh gesture.
The cards I pulled this week were the following.
Listening to the Ancestors. Inherited patterns, traditions, integrated wisdom versus knowledge.
Good Luck. Auspicious. Wishes granted. Blessings.
XII The Hanged Man tarot card
Initially, I wondered whether Spirit was instructing me to Shhh this week. I had a busy (for my new way of being) week, so perhaps a writing break was called for. However, it feels more like a Christmas in July energy. Or a quiet before (or within) the storm. The blend of those energies is akin to wishing from a disoriented state, almost as if you fear saying aloud what it is you are wishing for because your position is precarious enough as it is.
Rather than be silent out of fear that if we speak our desire, it will be taken from us forever, perhaps we are in a state of quiet confidence. We do not have to speak our wish aloud because We Got This. We have been quietly taking the steps, quietly listening to our ancestors and our inner wisdom center. We don’t have to speak it into being. We are it.
So, yes, take a break from expending energy justifying your compassion for the poor, your concern for the planet, or perhaps your own rights - especially if you are black, brown, LGBTQ+, or a woman. Dare I say, invest that energy in yourself, whatever that looks like to you. Silently smile now as you see and feel giving all that energy to yourself!
I would love to hear how you are planning on spending your energy on yourself!
Select astrology of the week: Uranus enters Gemini at 12:47 am pacific on 7/7/25
Even if you don’t follow astrology, you may have heard about this move, because the last time Uranus was in Gemini was 1941-1949, and before that 1858-1865 and 1774-1782, all particularly eventful times, especially for the United States. And the U.S. seems to be in another precarious junction related to war(s).
I tend to offer personal contemplations regarding astrological happenings, though. The card I pulled about this transit is the VII of Wands (also fitting for 7/7). Uranus isn’t specifically related to war, rather to rebellion, or defending what you believe in (or what the group you are affiliated with believes in).
In your birth chart and by transit, it can provide insight into the significant impacts your involvement with groups has to your future. It can point to where you must claw your way to standing up again after something extremely disruptive has happened to you. It may point to why you feel like the odd person out. All of these themes may provide a spark to an Ah-hah moment or two - sudden insights of genius also being related to Uranus.
Look for the sign of Gemini in your birth chart, and to where your natal Uranus is placed, as you consider these questions. Quietly.

Personal hiatus coming up, 7/13 - 7/27.
I have a couple of busy weeks, including a workshop on Shamanism and Herbalism in Boone, North Carolina, where I get to meet herbalist and prolific writer Matthew Wood, for whom the institute where I have been training is named.
Next Saturday, I host the monthly live gathering and Ask Me Anything, and will be speaking about Venus in your birth chart. I will also do a psychic mediumship demo for anyone present. These monthly events are for paid subscribers. Here is the schedule.
I have been talking with the owner of a local herb shop about doing in person readings once a week - stay tuned, my Seattle area people!

I showed up for martial arts yesterday. I was intimidated about going because a group of way more experienced people were visiting from out of town. They all knew each other and I was afraid to slow them down. I mentioned my concerns to my instructor, and he sent me an encouraging text. I showed up anxious, but left having learned some things. I’m proud of having spent the energy on myself.
What a lovely, caring post, Maria. As you know, I'm on vacation right now. It's wonderful to take this time for rest and simple pleasures. Inspiration finds us in these moments. I love that you're scheduling time off, too. So well deserved.
