I showed up for martial arts yesterday. I was intimidated about going because a group of way more experienced people were visiting from out of town. They all knew each other and I was afraid to slow them down. I mentioned my concerns to my instructor, and he sent me an encouraging text. I showed up anxious, but left having learned some things. I’m proud of having spent the energy on myself.

What a lovely, caring post, Maria. As you know, I'm on vacation right now. It's wonderful to take this time for rest and simple pleasures. Inspiration finds us in these moments. I love that you're scheduling time off, too. So well deserved.

I'm currently taking care of myself by indulging in lots of reading and writing whenever I feel like it and resting purely in the present by NOT turning anything into a project or setting goals with any of the writing or reading. There are other things I'm doing with herbs, diet, movement, but all of it is based on what I can learn by listening to myself, body and soul, right now.

I feel this, Leenie! Lately, when I feel my usual pull to ensure that every ounce of my time and attention is purpose driven, I hear spirit chuckling at my old habit, reminding me that simply being fully engaged in the present is fueling the larger cause I (we) contribute to.
